Caitlin Clark’s agent recently conceded that the WNBA will likely never be able to pay the Indiana Fever star what she’s really worth – just one month before Angel Reese similarly bemoaned the modest salary she receives from the league yet again.

Speaking to ESPN on February 17, Excel Sports Management’s Erin Kane – who represents Napheesa Collier, Arike Ogunbowale and others in addition to Clark – acknowledged that the 23-year-old’s WNBA salary won’t ever reflect the actual impact she has on the league.

“Will Caitlin Clark ever be paid by the WNBA what she’s really worth to that league? I don’t think that’s possible,” Kane said. “She’s part of a larger player body. They all need to be paid more. She should be recognized for what she has done and what she’s brought to the league from an economic standpoint. It’s as simple as that.”

“But I still support her 1000 percent,” Flau’jae Johnson said when she confirmed the rift between her and her once bestie Angel Reese. And she’s standing by that statement loud and clear. When we talk about the biggest names in women’s college basketball in the recent years, three instantly come to mind—Big 4, Caitlin Clark, and Angel Reese. While Johnson and Reese were practically inseparable, Clark was always the rival on the other side of the court. But now that both Caitlin Clark and Reese have turned pro, things have changed—both on and off the court.

One of the biggest stars to play in the upstart Unrivaled League was Angel Reese. The WNBA star decided to play and was able to play a significant role for her team.

Reese played for the Rose Basketball Club. Her team was able to win the championship in the first year of the league. The other teammates on her 3×3 team were happy to win the bonus that comes with winning it all.

Fast forward to two months later, and Rose BC not only finished second in the Unrivaled standings with an 8-6 record, but they also ended up becoming the first-ever Unrivaled champions.

So, following the team’s 62-54 victory in the Unrivaled finals on Monday, Reese couldn’t help but be proud of her teammates. She also made sure to remind ESPN how they were placed at the bottom of its ranking before the tournament even started.

“LOVE MY ROSEBUDS!” Reese wrote on her Instagram Stories, which also showed Rose BC’s ESPN ranking in an earlier post. “THEY RANKED US LAST! GOD HAD ALWAYS THE FINAL SAY!”

Rose BC actually started with a 1-4 record and appeared to be the problematic team that ESPN predicted them to be. Nonetheless, they eventually turned things around and won five straight to get back to postseason contention.

Reese, for her part, was sensational alongside eventual Finals MVP Chelsea Gray. During the regular season, the Chicago Sky star averaged 13.3 points and 12.1 rebounds en route to winning Second Team honors and Defensive Player of the Year.

Angel Reese found herself at the center of controversy this week after announcing that she would be featuring rapper DaBaby on her podcast, Unapologetically Angel. The Chicago Sky forward has built a strong platform through her podcast, but her latest guest selection sparked heated reactions from fans due to DaBaby‘s past controversies.

Reese initially shared a teaser of the upcoming episode on her X account, but the post was quickly deleted. However, that didn’t stop fans from reacting, with many questioning why she would give a platform to the rapper, who faced widespread backlash in 2021 after making offensive remarks about women and the LGBTQ+ community during his performance at Rolling Loud.

“Who is advising Angel Reese on this podcast guest? Cause honestly, why in the entire world would anyone, especially women, whom I thought was her audience, wanna hear from DaBaby?” one fan wrote.

Another fan criticized Reese‘s decision, referencing her past associations, “If there’s one big flaw about Angel Reese as a person, she’s about a bag no matter the optics or outlook it has against her brand. Interviewing DaBaby when you’ve had a relationship with Meg… is a bad look.”

Others were quick to point out that Reese may not have fully considered the potential backlash: “Wait, Angel Reese invited DaBaby on her podcast? Sis flew too close to the sun. These girls don’t know the rules,” another user remarked.

Reese’s podcast success

Since launching Unapologetically Angel last year, Reese has featured a variety of high-profile guests, including Shaquille O’Neal, Kayla Nicole, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade and DiJonai Carrington. One of her most talked-about episodes featured Kayla Nicole, the model and sports journalist who previously dated Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

The Indiana Fever nearly pulled off a comeback, but ultimately fell short of the Las Vegas Aces on Friday night, 78-74.

Caitlin Clark was scoreless at one point in the third quarter, but she caught fire and scored 14 points in that period alone. She finished with 18 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell led the team with 20 points.

Rising second-year WNBA players Kate Martin and Angel Reese are both participating in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled league — a new opportunity for women’s professional basketball players to earn money and hone their craft during the WNBA offseason.

Back in January, Martin’s Laces BC team matched up against Reese and the Roses. At one point during the 3v3 contest, Martin fouled Reese on a fast-break layup and sent her crashing to the floor.

Given the nature of their college basketball rivalry, this clip went viral on social media. Martin, a former Iowa teammate of Caitlin Clark, famously matched up against Reese and the LSU Tigers in the 2022-23 national championship game.

After this foul, a social media user on Instagram falsely reported that Reese wanted Martin kicked out of the Unrivaled league over this foul incident.

Martin directly addressed this false report with a strong message.

“Hey man, that post about Angel wanting me out of Unrivaled is completely untrue,” Martin wrote in a direct message to the Instagram user. “I try to stay out of social media BS but I couldn’t let that one slide. I don’t like misinformation like that out there.”

WNBA rising star Angel Reese, known for her fierce competitiveness and unapologetic style on the court, is now facing a personal challenge off the hardwood. While fans have followed her impressive career closely, recent reports suggest that Reese has received disappointing news from a close family member. This unexpected development has sparked concern among her supporters, leaving many wondering how it might impact the young athlete’s future both personally and professionally.

Although the details remain private, sources close to the situation hint that the news has been emotionally taxing for Reese. Known for her resilience and ability to overcome obstacles, the basketball sensation is no stranger to adversity. However, when it comes to family, even the strongest individuals can feel the weight of tough circumstances. Despite the personal setback, Reese continues to maintain a public image of strength, though insiders suggest that this news has deeply affected her behind the scenes.

As Angel Reese navigates this challenging chapter, one thing is clear—her fans and loved ones stand firmly by her side. For now, supporters remain hopeful that Reese will find strength in her family and continue to rise above the difficulties she faces. With the WNBA season underway, all eyes are on Angel Reese as she proves, once again, that no obstacle is too great for her to overcome.

In the world of professional basketball, particularly in the WNBA, drama and rumors are not uncommon. However, the recent speculation surrounding Angel Reese has sent shockwaves through the basketball community. As fans and analysts have wondered what might be behind the tension, one voice has emerged to challenge the narrative: Kate Martin. The Unrivaled star, who has been a fierce competitor on the court, has chosen to speak out and offer her perspective on the matter. Martin’s unexpected defense of her WNBA rival has raised eyebrows, and many are now asking: What’s the real story behind this shocking response?

The rumors regarding Angel Reese, a standout player known for her dominant presence on the court, have been swirling for weeks. Speculation regarding her relationship with teammates, coaches, and even her status with the league has dominated discussions. With a growing sense of division, it seemed as though Reese might be facing isolation. However, Kate Martin’s statement reveals a different side of the story. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon of negativity, Martin has gone against the grain by publicly defending Reese, despite the mounting criticism. The question remains: why would Martin, who has often been seen as a fierce competitor against Reese, suddenly take a stand for her?

Martin’s decision to speak out comes as a shock to many. As a fierce and competitive player, she’s not typically one to ba a publ
