Before that, the Guadalajara fighter would fight in May, but for that date, none of the opponents among the options that have transpired have yet to gain strength.

After that fight, there was speculation about the possibility of reconsidering David Benavidez (30-0), as the Mexican’s trainer Eddy Reynoso was present, but now the information is going in the opposite direction with the opportunity to face Paul, who defeated Mike Tyson in November.

According to reports in Mexico, Paul has an agreement in place to face Canelo Alvarez this year.

Per the report, the event will be co-promoted by Canelo Promotions and Most Valuable Promotions.

The report comes after Paul posted a cryptic post on social media, where he tweeted: “It’s time. Sat July 5th. New York, New York.”

He could be suggesting a July date in New York is in the works, though the initial report seems to state a May date is being targeted.

Needless to say, the idea of Paul facing boxing superstar Canelo sent social media wild.

One X user predicted: “Jake will get knocked out in the 1st round if it’s a real fight.”

A second said: “I would watch, to see Canelo knock Jake out. Jake only has a punchers chance, a very slim punchers chance.”

A third added: “It’s still a pay day. But no damn way Jake Paul believes he can win against Canelo.”

Another claimed: “I can see myself betting all my money on Canelo and somehow Jake Paul wins and my life is ruined.”

Paul has relentlessly called for a fight against Canelo over the years and it appears his wish will be granted.

‘The Problem Child’, however, insists the Mexican needs him if he wants a payday.

“Canelo needs me, so I’m not even going to try and call him out,” he said in the ring after beating Tyson.

“He knows he wants a payday. So, he knows where the money man is at…

“He’s going to want a payday and I want to show the world all the [stuff] I’ve been talking about beating Canelo is true and I’ll have the biggest upset in the history of boxing.

“If you win the Super Bowl MVP, I think you can do it brother … I will give you one of my Ferraris.” Paul declared.

Super Bowl and a birthday bonus for Barkley

This year’s Super Bowl is even more significant for Barkley-it falls on his birthday. Playing for a Lombardi Trophy and celebrating his personal milestone could provide the perfect backdrop for Barkley to cement his legacy.

The Philadelphia Eagles will be taking on the Kansas City Chiefs, and Barkley’s performance could not only change the outcome of the game but also earn him the MVP title that Paul has wagered on.

Despite being a Cleveland Browns fan, Paul and Barkley have a somewhat surprising connection. When mentalist Oz visited the Eagles, Barkley was seen wearing a sweatshirt from Paul’s personal brand, “W”. While their history is limited, Paul’s offer is clearly meant to spur on the Eagles’ star player, fueling the belief that Barkley has the potential to dominate in the Super Bowl.

While the Chiefs are gunning for a three-peat as champions, Saquon Barkley has become a fan favorite across the country, with many rooting for the Eagles to bring the title home. The added motivation from Paul’s offer could be the spark that helps Barkley reach the pinnacle of his career, not just with a Super Bowl win, but with the MVP trophy to go along with it.

As the big game approaches, all eyes will be on Barkley, with fans eagerly anticipating what could be a historic performance-and perhaps a shiny new Ferrari as a reward for his efforts.

While Barkley doesn’t need much motivation, given his incredible talent and the opportunity to prove himself on the Super Bowl stage, Paul’s offer of a luxury sports car is an interesting twist.

Forbes said that the former heavyweight champion’s total career earnings could be as high as $US685 million (over $A1 billion).

Shelly Finkel, Tyson’s former manager, once told The Sun: “He’s one of the few people who I’ve ever met who I really don’t believe that the money matters except for the moment to get him the satisfaction he wants.

“Whether it be clothing, buying a car for a girl. It’s not like, ‘Hey, I gotta be wealthy.’ It was just the satisfaction at that moment.

“I remember, he’d spend $100,000 in one visit. I saw cars he had that were over $1 million.”

One of Tyson’s infamous buys was a gift for his then wife, a solid gold bathtub, dubbed the most expensive in the world, paying over $US 2 million.

Mike also hired an animal trainer for $US 125,000-a-year to take care of his pet Siberian tigers, which cost $US 100,000 each.

He also employed an entourage of people, including bodyguards, chauffeurs, chefs, and gardeners, all of which put a strain on his finances

The former boxer, 58, picked himself up from his drowning debts and went on to star in movies before moving into the lucrative cannabis business.

He credits his stable financial position now to his wife Lakiha Spicer.
